The author is a young budding writer, belongs to a middle-class family, and hails from the mountains of Baramulla, Pattan of North Kashmir. She has done B.Sc from Women’s College Baramulla and also done her Masters in English literature from IGNOU. An aspiring English lecturer, she felt inclined towards writing since her girlhood days, though her late father never approved it and deemed it total wastage of time. But she persisted with her passion for she believes that writing is the medium of expression and it is an outlet of releasing thoughts that haunts in somewhere deep. She writes under the pen name “Rose” and strives to bloom like it defying all odds. She draws inspiration from people, places, and nature. Mostly her poems revolve around the theme of Melancholia though she also pens on life, woman empowerment and motivational frames. She breathes in the world of words, emotions and strives hard to connect writing with the world around through her reed. Her interest surges from reading, writing and watching cricket. Her all-time favourites include Pir-e-Kamil by Umera Ahmad, Forty Rules Of Love by Elif Shafak and greatly inspired by the poetry of John Donne. “SEVENTY SHADES” is her debut book, while apart from the poetry she also gives her hand upon to short stories, though the author hopes to come up with different varieties of books in the future.
